What you’ll do
As a Social Support Group Assistant, you’ll bring energy and compassion to every session, working with the Social Support Group Coordinator to create meaningful and engaging activities for older people and people with disabilities.
You’ll help design a monthly calendar filled with enriching experiences that support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing—fostering connection, independence, and community. You’ll be hands-on in delivering these activities with care and respect, always tuned in to individual needs. Your keen eye will also help identify and report changes or concerns in clients’ wellbeing, making a real difference every day.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a related field and/or relevant certificates such as a Certificate in Health and Leisure or be working towards one, along with a Food Handling Certificate. You are sensitive and responsive to people’s differing needs, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities. Previous experience in recreational activities and crafts is essential, as is an understanding of the aims and objectives of the Social Support program and the CHSP/HACC Guidelines. You bring strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and implement a program of activities within set timeframes. A current driver’s licence is also required.
