As an innovative rural health service, Hesse provides acute, aged, and community-based services across the Colac Otway, Golden Plains, and Surf Coast municipalities.

About the Role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) role has a clinical leadership role in the organisation, leading the clinical team in providing evidence based care and assisting with the development of clinical team members.  The position offers a unique professional blend to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role within their scope of practice of Urgent care, Acute Care and Aged Care.

The NP works with a multidisciplinary team including local GPs, Aged Care On site Pharmacist (ACOP), allied health and nursing staff.

Hesse is seeking a NP with relevant postgraduate qualifications in emergency or critical care, who also has relevant post registration aged care experience.

The role will include some weekend shifts and participation in an on call roster. Ideally the NP will live within 30 minutes of Hesse to accommodate for recall for urgent presentations.

Essential requirements include:

  • Registered Nurse Division One holding a current registration with Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) with relevant unrestricted AHPRA notation as a Nurse Practitioner
