Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
As a member of the catering team, you will produce high quality, cost effective and nutritious meals for all users of CAH Food Service.
Ensuring the kitchen, supplies and equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition in accordance with relevant regulations.
What’s required?
Essential:
- Certificate of Cooking or experience in commercial cooking setting.
- Dessert and pastry cooking experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial cooking setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in bulk cooking.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work without active supervision.
- Knowledge of the Food Act 1984 and Victoria’s legislative and regulatory mechanisms to ensure food safety.
- Understanding of the principles of food safety and infection control.
Desirable:
- Have an understanding of the concepts of nutrition, cooking with consideration of special dietary requirements, food related allergies and intolerances.
