RESEARCH ASSISTANT - DELIVER
Temporary Part Time - 12 months from commencement
7.6 hours per week
Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
DELIVER (Delivering Enhanced heaLthcare at home through optimising Virtual tools for oldEr people in Rural and regional Australia):
DELIVER is a 5-year research program that seeks to address key challenges to providing sustainable and effective home based care to older people in rural areas. It is an exciting opportunity that brings together for the first time, rural healthcare providers, academic health science centres, universities, national peak bodies, and consumers.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Colac Area Health Research Unit supporting our contribution to the DELIVER program.
What's required?
Desirable:
- Recognised professional entry qualification in nursing, medicine, an allied health discipline, public health, health promotion or other relevant health related qualification.
- Eligibility for membership with appropriate professional body and current registration with AHPRA (if applicable).
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience working in the health sector.
- Experience, knowledge or interest in older persons health and home-based care
- An interest in research
- Able to be flexible and adaptable in carrying out tasks as often research adapts as it evolves.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering healthcare including an understanding of healthcare systems and practice.
- Experience in supporting others to deliver healthcare initiatives.
- Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in health and community settings.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Be able to make effective connections with health services staff required for gathering information and data.
- Be able to make effective connections with participants if involved in recruitment or data collection at an individual participant level.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement service delivery initiatives within a specialty area of practice.
- Experience and skills in data collection and data management
- Experience in managing projects.
