About the role

 

Registered Nurse – Urgent Care

Permanent Part Time - Up to 32 hours per fortnight

Temporary Part Time – Up to 32 hours per fortnight

12 months from commencement  

 

Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

 

Urgent Care is a small and busy but challenging department providing emergency care in the Colac Otway Shire. As the largest health care facility in the area we provide emergency care to 10,000 patients per year in collaboration with hospital medical officers, nurse practitioners, Barwon Mental Health and local general practitioners. We have a diverse patient population encompassing: cardiac, respiratory, trauma, paediatrics, gynaecology, mental health etc. The Urgent Care Nurse is responsible for delivery of a standard of nursing care commensurate with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Providing compassion, empathy and understanding to patients and their families whilst maintaining a professional appearance and approach to the role at all times and conveying those qualities to others.

 

 

What’s required? 

 

ESSENTIAL:

  • Registered Nurse - Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Specific qualifications and experience relevant to particular clinical areas.
  • Ability to organise work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner and be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate skills in teamwork and leadership.
  • Computer literacy.

 

DESIRABLE:

  • Completion of recognised Graduate Program.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a particular clinical area or a willingness to work towards.
  • Current certification in ALS.
