We are seeking an experienced, passionate nurse leader to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director of Clinical Services (EDCS) this role will lead and manage our Planned Surgery area, which ensures a seamless patient journey from the preparation list to surgery completion.
You will be responsible for the day to day operations, ensuring high quality care is provided to patients and their families within applicable financial frameworks, budgetary constraints, quality standards and legislative requirements. This role is supported by an established nursing and administration team which has created a positive and supportive environment.
As our ideal candidate you:
Essential
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
• Ability to take a leadership role in strategic and daily issues
• Proven ability to manage change
• Significant level of nursing skills, easily identified as a role model of clinical competence
• Demonstrated ability in the development of cohesive teams and sound knowledge of team functioning
• Proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care
• Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet skills to enable quality communication.
• Understanding of and commitment to Health Service Key Performance
Desirable
• Demonstrated understanding of Elective Surgery Information System (ESIS) reporting requirements
• Proven ability to strategically and operationally meet ESIS and planned surgery activity outcomes
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary models of care in Planned Surgery.
• Proven experience in transitioning a health service into an ESIS reporting environment
