MATERNITY UNIT MANAGER
Full Time Position 

 

Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

 

Colac Area Health has an exciting leadership opportunity for a suitably experienced Registered Midwife for the role of Maternity Unit Manager.  The Maternity Unit Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of Maternity ensuring high quality consumer focused services are provided within applicable financial frameworks, budgetary constraints, quality standards and legislative requirements.

 

What’s required? 

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse and Midwife
  • Post graduate qualification in management
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate relevant clinical experience
  • Evidence of a focus and a passion for high quality woman and family focused care
  • Recent management experience with proven competency in operational planning, strategic and innovative thinking, resource management and budget management
  • Knowledge and application of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
  • Knowledge and application of Safer Care Victoria Perinatal Services Indicators and projects
  • Ability and willigness to provide direct care within scope of practice
  • Demonstrated evidence of effectively leading staff through change
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use information technology in care and management
