Instrument Technician 

Permanent Part Time 16 hours per week

 

An exciting opportunity exists for a Instrument Technician to join our busy Perioperative Services team at Colac Area Health.

 

Assist with the operation of the Central Sterilising & Supply Department (CSSD) as allocated and the management of resources. Collecting, decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, storing and distribution of sterile goods and equipment for internal and external customers in accordance with AS 5369 2023.

Inspection and maintenance of CSSD specific equipment as required. Assist in the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
Participate in quality improvement activities and regularly review own work practices to ensure continuous improvement in meeting customer expectations and requirements. Attend to other duties as delegated by the Perioperative Services Manager or ANUM.

 

What's required:

 

Essential:

  • Must have a keen interest in working in Sterilisation, Management of Sterile supplies and Infection control.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with people from a variety of ages, cultures and backgrounds.
  • Have well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Must hold a Certificate III in Health – Sterilising practise for Technicians or equivalent or working towards.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a hospital
