Health Information Services Clerk

Temporary Part Time - 16 hours per week until 02/05/2026

 

The Health Information Services Clerk is responsible for the day to day maintenance of incoming and outgoing medical records and for ensuring all health information documents are filed accurately in a timely manner.  This position will action valid release of information requests as appropriate and respond to queries from both internal and external stakeholders as required.

 

The position will provide support to Health Information Services Manager in order to process queries, medico legal aspects and maintain confidentiality of information within the department at all times.

What’s required?

 

Essential:

 

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications
  • Previous administration/clerical experience
  • Demonstrated organisation skills including the ability to prioritise work and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to be flexible, demonstrate a willingness to learn, show attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

 

Desirable:

 

  • Previous experience working in Health Information Services or Medical Administration
  • Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Sound knowledge of Privacy Principles and the Health Records Act
