About the role

Grade 2 Physiotherapist - General Specialist
Limited Tenure Contract Part Time – 60.8 hours per fortnight

Colac Area Health (CAH) is seeking applications from physiotherapists who are team focused and interested in pursuing opportunities to diversify and enhance their skills in a regional public health setting.

This position will be responsible for a diverse caseload across aged care, inpatients, sub-acute rehabilitation and community outpatients.

This exciting opportunity is suitable for physiotherapists seeking any or multiple of the below:

  • A Grade 1 wanting to gain experience in a Grade 2 Physiotherapist role in a supported environment
  • A private therapist, wanting to join and understand the public health system for a short term contract
  • A therapist wanting a temporary "change of scenery" - come and see what Colac offers, the ideal gateway to the Otways and Great Ocean Road

You will provide clinical expertise to complex cases, support staff supervision, and assist with departmental and organisation quality projects and/or working groups to enhance the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services to Colac Area Health.

What’s required?

  • Appropriate degree and registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible for membership of professional association
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload (which may involve weekend work)
  • Highly professional and effective behaviour, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience as a clinician with demonstrated clinical expertise, developing specialist knowledge and experience with a range of clinical presentations across a range of settings
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising Grade 1 clinicians, Allied Health Assistants and students
  • Developed skills in evaluation of service delivery, research and established skills in the review of literature
  • Ability to work independently, to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Understanding of the business environment, the structural and financial arrangements, KPI’s and relationships between these factors and service delivery
  • Flexible and resilient to a changing health environment
  • IT competency
  • Current Drivers Licence, Working with Children, and Police Check
