Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

 

Allied Health Assistants provide therapeutic and program related support to Allied Health Professionals (AHP). The AHA is required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional across the Acute, Sub-Acute, Rehabilitation, Aged Care and Community settings of Colac Area Health.

 

Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote and must occur within organisation requirements. The worker is required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the Allied Health Professional.

 

What’s required? 

 

  • Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistant; nursing or other relevant qualification.
  • Understand the theoretical principles of the work undertaken by all AHPs.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently as well as with a team to deliver care in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to provide care as prescribed.
  • Experience or exposure in facilitating groups within community rehabilitation settings.
  • A philosophy of care that promotes client centred care and independence with their health, wellbeing and lifestyle.
  • Ability to work independently and organise own workload with excellent time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including adaptability to change.
  • Competent with various window based software programs and computer skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check, Police Check, Drivers Licence.
