AOD Clinician

Permanant Part time- 24hrs per week 

 

Colac Area Health offers a number of Alcohol and Drug programs that can support individuals, families and loved ones that are affected by Alcohol and Drugs use. Our AOD Clinicians understand that Alcohol and Drug use can be a coping strategy that people have adapted to help deal with pain, trauma, grief/loss and stress in their lives. Our qualified team utalises up to date and evidence based information and treatment to support clients with their individual goals around their AOD use. 

The AOD Clinician role will offer Counselling, Care and Recovery, Forensic Support and Family Support to indivduals and their families accessing our state funded Drug and Alcohol program in the Colac Otway Shire. 

 

Key Selection Criteria:

 

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes – 

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology and/or related field.
  • Experience in the delivery of relevant clinical work preferably within AOD sector.
  • Completion of and/or a willingness to work towards completion of AOD core competencies
  • Understanding and experience in current evidence based practice framework and interventions that include trauma informed care, family inclusive practice and culturally safe practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people and families experiencing problematic alcohol and other drug use in a respectful, compassionate, collaborative, and productive way.
  • Demonstrated understanding of community based interventions for reducing alcohol and drug related harm.
  • A demonstrated commitment to a positive team culture.
  • Current Drivers licence and Working with Children Check
