About the role
Barwon Health's Gastroenterology/Medical unit is looking for a Ward Clerk to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of consumer focused administrative support, ensuring equity of access throughout the patient’s journey on the ward and assist the multidisciplinary team by providing efficient and effective clerical support to achieve desired outcomes. This role has a set roster – Every Sunday 8am - 12pm, with potential to cover both short term & short notice leave.
Key responsibilities
- Provide professional, accurate and respectful customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and data, ensuring information is managed, stored and released in accordance with Barwon Health policies, legislation and privacy requirements.
- Follow Barwon Health policies, procedures and relevant health care standards, complete mandatory training, participate in audits and quality improvement activities, and report incidents and hazards appropriately.
- Provide accurate data entry, reporting and administrative support, undertake required audits and special projects, and perform other duties within the scope of skills, competence and training.
