About the role

Are you passionate about connecting people, creating engaging content and making a difference through volunteering?

Barwon Health is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to support the recruitment, onboarding and engagement of volunteers across our services.

In this varied role, you’ll coordinate volunteer recruitment and placements, deliver engaging events and activities, and create content that celebrates our volunteers and promotes opportunities across the organisation. You’ll also work closely with internal teams, community partners and stakeholders to strengthen volunteer programs and enhance the volunteer experience.

This position operates Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Coordinate end-to-end volunteer recruitment, screening, onboarding and placement across Barwon Health.
  • Organise volunteer events, orientations, appreciation activities and community engagement initiatives.
  • Create engaging content for newsletters, social media and internal communications to promote volunteering and celebrate success stories.
  • Support volunteer teams with rostering, training, compliance requirements and ongoing engagement.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, databases, dashboards and reports, identifying opportunities to improve processes and volunteer experiences.

 

What we're looking for 

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, recruitment, administration, communications or project management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders and community groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation, event coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, reporting and social media platforms.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for supporting volunteers and improving their experience.
