About the role 

To provide an efficient, effective and timely service in relation to the variety of routine, complex and specialised tasks associated with the therapeutic, diagnostic and life support biomedical equipment to satisfy quality and service delivery objectives of the department, the hospital and its customers. To manage and maintain all mobile devices, nurse call systems, duress alarms, Audio/Video Systems across Barwon Health.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Organise, coordinate, and deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of clinical equipment, including liaising with departments and service contractors to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
  • Manage clinical computer systems, servers, networks, and software; provide hardware and software support; deploy new clinical IT systems and applications.
  • Ensure all clinical equipment maintenance and acceptance comply with Australian Standards, departmental policies, and quality management systems; maintain accurate records and support internal and external audits.
  • Lead biomedical engineering projects from planning to handover, coordinating clinicians, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, effective implementation of medical technology.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Diploma in Electronics or equivalent, Biomedical Equipment Technology
  • Demonstrated minimum of 8 years prior experience as a Biomedical Technical Officer or familiarity with biomedical devices common to health care facilities
  • Competency in applying clinical IT principles and cyber security measures
