About the role
The Clerical Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of all systems and processes in relation specialist clinics to ensure the clerical processes are efficient, equitable and operate in accordance with Barwon Health’s policies, procedures and the Department of Health Managing referrals to non-admitted specialist services in Victorian public health services policy
The role is responsible for the oversight of all the clerical team that support the delivery of the Surgical and Critical Care Directorate’s clinics across its multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage Administration Officers and Coordinators, including rostering, onboarding, training, supervision, and performance management.
- Ensure efficient functioning of Specialist Clinics systems and workflows, including task allocation, coverage planning, and compliance with VINAH MDS and organisational standards.
- Lead initiatives to improve service quality, monitor KPIs, identify risks, and escalate or resolve issues to support patient experience.
- Act as a conduit for key messages, support clinician leave management, and collaborate with internal teams to maintain a professional and productive workplace culture.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or relevant industry experience with a minimum 2-3 years’ experience
- High level communication, written and verbal, with demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with consumers, their families and all health care professionals.
- Demonstrated high-level of customer service
- Computer literacy and embracing of health technologies and informatics.
