About the role
We are seeking a professional and dedicated team member to deliver courteous, empathetic and efficient customer service on the Switchboard at University Hospital Geelong. You will be required to work rostered afternoon shifts and also work additional hours to meet department needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage switchboard operations, including handling calls, enquiries, paging staff, and making announcements across all sites after hours
- Respond to and coordinate emergency procedures, including monitoring code phones, alarm panels, and documenting all incidents
- Provide front-line support for patient and staff enquiries, including call requests, taxi bookings, and equipment fault reporting
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, job allocation, and issuing/recording keys and pagers
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with information security, privacy laws, and organisational standards
What we’re looking for
- Deliver high-level customer service with a professional and courteous phone manner
- Communicate clearly and effectively with strong verbal skills
- Demonstrate strong keyboard, literacy, and numeracy capabilities
- Use multiple computer systems proficiently, with experience in high-volume switchboard environments
