About the role

Join the Pharmacy team at University Hospital Geelong as a Pharmacy Storeperson, supporting the safe, accurate and timely supply of medicines, fluids and other pharmacy stock across Barwon Health.

Working alongside a dedicated and supportive pharmacy team, you’ll receive and store deliveries, pick and distribute stock to wards and external sites, operate the pharmacy robot and assist with fluid replenishment. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a hospital pharmacy environment, with ongoing training and support provided.

This position works 7 days per fortnight, from 7:30am to 2:30pm, with additional hours available from time to time to support leave coverage.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack and safely store pharmaceutical and fluid deliveries, including maintaining cold chain requirements
  • Operate the pharmacy robot to input and pick stock
  • Accurately and efficiently pick and pack orders for wards and external sites
  • Complete fluid imprest checks and replenish stock as required
  • Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and discrepancies, escalating issues to the Purchasing team
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe pharmacy store environment
  • Support weekend ward fluid replenishment and other store activities as required

 

What we're looking for 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow processes and procedures
  • Flexible and reliable approach, with the ability to work with a high degree of responsibility
  • Previous pharmacy, warehousing, stores or similar experience is desirable
  • Good computer skills and the ability to work with electronic systems
  • A commitment to providing safe, efficient and high-quality service to patients and clinical teams
