About the role 

As the Grade 4 stereotactic Radiation Therapist you'll be a highly specialized role with a focus on high-precision treatments like Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT/SABR). You will demonstrate expert clinical leadership across radiotherapy simulation, planning and treatment. The role requires advanced skills in staff supervision, daily operational management to support senior leadership and clinical project planning and delivery. In consultation with the RT Leadership team, you will lead the review and implementation of clinical protocols, clinical projects, staff training and credentialing.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • A strong commitment to patient- focused care, willingness to adapt and ability to work in a team environment.
  • An expert level in advanced radiation therapy planning and treatment technical expertise, i.e. VMAT, SABR, IGRT, real- time image guided treatment which significantly benefits consumer care.
  • Strong ability to provide clinical leadership and operate the unit effectively taking responsibility for the management of their respective work area as required.
  • Ability to assist the RT leadership team with daily functions in maintaining high- quality patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review, redesign and maintain proficiency in internal policies within the safety and quality scope.
  • Skills in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring, training, credentialing in professional learning.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Qualified RT with current registration from AHPRA 
  • Eligible for Radiation Users Licence with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. 
  • Demonstrated sound technical skills and have a sound understanding of Radiotherapy Practice and Principles with experience and specific knowledge that meets the classification descriptor for Radiation Therapy Technologist Grade 4.
  • Expertise in Advanced Techniques Simulation, Planning and Treatment and learners’ supervision, in particular in the stereotactic workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, prioritise workload, manage a team under pressure, and drive a positive departmental inter-disciplinary culture, staff education and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll out and manage clinical projects within a multi-disciplinary framework.
