About the role

As the Staffing Allocators you'll work with key members of the access and resource team and ward staff to trouble shoot and fill staffing shortfalls across the organisation.

The successful incumbent will be level-headed, highly organised, excellent communicator and able to work at a fast pace. This vital role is IT based so ability to uptake IT programs is a must.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Allocate the most appropriate and cost-effective staff to meet short-term staffing requirements, manage planned and emergent leave coverage, and ensure approved staffing requests are filled across predominantly bed-based services
  • Respond to incoming calls and liaise effectively with ward/unit managers, casual bank, pool and part-time staff, nursing agencies (following agency avoidance strategies), and operational managers to address staffing needs and workforce pressures
  • Validate CRU timesheets in accordance with guidelines, maintain accurate staffing databases, and ensure workforce allocation processes comply with organisational policies and approved procedures

 

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer literacy, and the ability to quickly learn and use specialist web-based systems. Experience with telephony systems and Barwon Health applications is highly regarded
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including shift work and additional hours as required, with a collaborative approach and an understanding of healthcare staffing requirements in acute, sub-acute, or aged care settings being advantageous
