About the role
As a Grade 3 Speech Pathologist within the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Clinic, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based assessment, care planning and ongoing support to people living with progressive neurological diseases across the Barwon South West region.
Working within a specialised multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred care, supporting clients and their families to navigate complex health needs. The role also provides professional leadership within Speech Pathology, contributes to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and supports education and supervision of staff and students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist Speech Pathology assessment, intervention and care planning for clients living with Motor Neurone Disease and other progressive neurological conditions
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and support clients, families and carers across the care continuum
- Provide professional leadership, supervision and education to Speech Pathologists, allied health staff and students
- Contribute to service development, research activities and quality improvement initiatives to support best practice care
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent and eligibility for Certified Practicing Membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- Extensive clinical experience working with people with progressive neurological conditions, particularly Motor Neurone Disease
- Strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development and continuous improvement in clinical services
