About the role

Join Barwon Health as a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist in this fixed-term NDIS HACC PYP funded role, supporting eligible Victorian children and families to access Allied Health services through an NDIS plan.

Based at Torquay Community Health Centre, with some work across Belmont and Newcomb Community Health Centres, you will identify eligible consumers from paediatric Speech Pathology waitlists and support timely assessment, referral and connection to appropriate early intervention providers.

You will also build strong relationships with early intervention partners and support sustainable NDIS system navigation by sharing knowledge and upskilling colleagues as required.

Key responsibilities

• Identify eligible consumers from paediatric Speech Pathology waitlists and support timely clinical assessment.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals and connections to funded providers to support early intervention.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with early intervention partners and other health and disability services.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based Speech Pathology services within a multidisciplinary community setting.
• Support NDIS system navigation, knowledge sharing and service improvement across the Primary Care team.

What we’re looking for

• Current registration with the Speech Pathology Registration Board of Australia.
• At least two years’ experience working in a community setting, with the ability to work independently within your clinical scope.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with consumers, families, colleagues and external providers.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team and delivering inclusive and culturally safe care.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development, reflective practice and evidence-based clinical care.
• Experience working with paediatric and adult clients in a community setting is desirable.
• Experience in paediatric feeding, the Lidcombe Program or outcome measurement would be advantageous.
