About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About the role
McKellar Kids Rehab incorporates the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service and Young Adults Transition Service. The primary role of the Social Worker is to provide psychosocial assessment and management of the psychosocial needs of children, adolescents and their families following illness, injury or surgery.
As a Social Worker ypu'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and community partners to deliver high quality, evidence-based, coordinated care. You'll be also required to provide secondary consultation to the treating team in relation to psychosocial issues associated with rehabilitation or health transition, with the aim of maximising the efficacy of the full range of interventions delivered by McKellar Kids Rehab.
The position is based at the McKellar Centre and includes supporting children and youth at home, school and in other community settings. This role may support the development Grade 1/2 staff and undergraduate students through supervision and guidance.
