Social Worker (Grade 1), Allied Health

Key responsibilities 

• Provide evidence-based social work assessment, intervention, and care planning within a multidisciplinary team across acute and sub-acute settings, ensuring high-quality psychosocial support for consumers and families.
• Manage a clinical caseload within the designated area, ensuring timely, accurate documentation and adherence to Barwon Health policies, clinical standards, and consumer care requirements.
• Contribute to collaborative practice, service improvement, and professional development through effective communication, participation in supervision, quality activities, and ongoing learning.
• Practice in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal standards, including AASW requirements, while demonstrating culturally safe, inclusive, and person-centred care.

What we’re looking for 

• Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with a Bachelor or entry-level Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Strong foundational clinical knowledge and skills in social work practice within a health setting, including psychosocial assessment, care planning, and intervention.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute and sub-acute environment, with good communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development, and adherence to ethical, legal, and organisational standards, including flexibility to work across rotating and 7-day rosters.
