About the role

Barwon Health Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) is seeking a Service Experience and Community Engagement Lead to play a key role in strengthening how we listen to and respond to the voices of people accessing our services, their carers, and the broader community.

This role will lead initiatives that ensure consumer and carer experience informs service design, quality improvement and innovation, supporting MHDAS to deliver responsive, person-centred care aligned with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 (Vic).

You will work closely with clinical teams, leaders, consumers and community partners to analyse service experience data, facilitate co-design initiatives, and drive improvement projects that enhance outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor improvement plans based consumer and carer feedback
  • Provide data analysis and insights to support strategic operational decision making
  • Ensure community perspectives inform service design, improvements and innovation
  • Contribute to the MHDAS research agenda, including the dissemination of innovative practices and service improvements.

 

What We Are Looking For

You are passionate about improving mental health services through consumer and carer voice, data insight and collaborative improvement.

You bring strong analytical capability combined with the ability to build relationships, facilitate discussions and drive change across complex systems.

You will also have:

  • Experience analysing and presenting service or health data
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives
  • Capability in facilitation, co-design and collaborative problem solving
  • Understanding of mental health and alcohol and other drug service systems
  • Ability to translate data and feedback into practical improvement actions
