About the role
The Senior Workplace Relations and Compliance Advisor provides expert workplace relations and compliance support across Barwon Health. The role partners with managers, employees and advisors to deliver practical advice on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
You will also support compliance initiatives across the People & Culture function, helping ensure adherence to employment legislation and health sector requirements, while contributing to key strategic projects including HRIS implementation and the development of a People Services function.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert workplace relations advice and case management support across performance management, disciplinary matters, investigations, disputes and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
- Support leaders and the Workplace Relations team with practical guidance, coaching and capability development on employee relations matters and processes.
- Lead and coordinate workforce compliance programs, including police checks, Working with Children Checks, NDIS checks, visa compliance and professional registration monitoring.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to ensure organisational compliance with employment, health sector and workforce standards.
- Prepare workforce reports, compliance data analysis and audit documentation, and contribute to internal and external audit activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, strategic People & Culture projects, and the development of efficient compliance processes and workflows.
What we’re looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in Workplace or Employee Relations case management.
- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters and provide practical advice on Enterprise Agreements, policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and support leaders at all levels.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including reporting, record management, governance documentation and the ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience applying compliance standards and legislative requirements within people processes; experience in the healthcare or public sector will be highly regarded.
