About the role
As the Senior Manager (Grade 7), Facilities & Engineering Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Engineering Services across Barwon Health, ensuring the safe, reliable and sustainable operation of the critical infrastructure that supports exceptional patient care.
Reporting to the Director – Facilities & Engineering Services, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, oversee technical governance, manage operational risk, and drive engineering excellence across a diverse portfolio of healthcare facilities. As the organisation's senior technical leader, you will provide expert engineering advice, champion innovation and continuous improvement, and ensure engineering services remain compliant, resilient and responsive to the evolving needs of one of Victoria's largest regional health services.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Engineering Services, ensuring critical infrastructure supports safe, reliable and sustainable healthcare delivery across Barwon Health
- Lead engineering operations by overseeing multidisciplinary teams, essential building services, maintenance programs and contractor performance to optimise asset reliability and minimise operational risk
- Drive engineering governance and compliance by ensuring adherence to legislative, regulatory, accreditation and organisational requirements while maintaining robust technical assurance and risk management frameworks
- Support asset lifecycle and capital projects by providing engineering expertise for planning, design, commissioning, renewal and long-term asset management
- Build high-performing teams and partnerships through strong leadership, workforce development and effective collaboration with executive leaders, clinical services and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Extensive senior leadership experience in facilities, engineering or maintenance management, with the ability to lead high-performing teams and drive operational excellence
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of hospital building services and critical infrastructure
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Standards, Essential Safety Measures (ESM), workplace health and safety requirements, and engineering compliance frameworks
- Strong strategic, financial and stakeholder management skills, with experience in budget management, operational improvement, capital projects or sustainability initiatives highly regarded
