About the role 

The SOPHIA Project Officer will work closely with the Organisational Improvement Lead at Barwon Health to support the implementation of the SOPHIA platform across Barwon Local Health Service Network (LHSN) health services. The role spans project scoping, solution development, training, user support, implementation, and evaluation, and requires strong collaboration with stakeholders across Colac Area Health, Hesse Rural Health, Great Ocean Road Health, Barwon Health, SWARH, and the vendor (Carradale Futures).

 

This position can be based at any Barwon LHSN health service, with regular travel required. The role will primarily support Colac Area Health (2 days per week), Hesse Rural Health (1 day per week), and Great Ocean Road Health (2 days per week across Lorne and Apollo Bay).

 

The position is full-time; however, job-share arrangements across part-time staff will be considered. Applicants interested in flexible arrangements should indicate their preferred work location in their application.

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate and deliver project activities with the Organisational Improvement Lead to ensure timely achievement of key milestones
  • Manage project plans, timelines, and reporting, including regular updates to senior management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project outcomes
  • Support data collection, analysis, and evaluation to inform design, monitor progress, and measure impact
  • Identify, escalate, and help mitigate project risks while contributing to a positive team culture and continuous improvement

 

What we’re looking for  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project-related skills, with sound judgement
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and formal documentation
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Experience in public healthcare, project management, or technology implementation (desirable), supported by relevant qualifications or clinical experience
