About the role 

This role encompasses high-level, end-to-end operational management and continuous improvement of safe and effective rostering for Junior Medical Staff across the organisation. You will be a part of the strategic direction for roster development in collaboration with clinical directors and heads of units.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, rostering, and shift coverage of Junior Medical Staff, ensuring compliance with the VIC DiT Enterprise Agreement and continuity of service delivery.
  • Prepare, maintain, and coordinate medical workforce rosters, including leave management, roster changes, and effective utilisation of relievers and locums within allocated resources.
  • Approve Junior Medical Staff timesheets and collaborate with Payroll, Medical Workforce, and Workforce Remuneration teams to ensure accurate and efficient employment and payroll processes.
  • Participate in the after-hours medical workforce on-call roster, applying strong problem-solving and escalation skills to address staffing issues and maintain operational requirements.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce coordination, rostering, and operational management within a healthcare or medical workforce environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise agreements, payroll processes, leave management, and workforce compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems effectively, and respond to staffing issues in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build effective working relationships.
