About the role

Our Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MH HITH) service offers a genuine alternative to inpatient admission. We support consumers experiencing an acute mental health crisis to recover safely in their own homes and communities. Our multidisciplinary team delivers flexible, person-centred care through home visits, clinic appointments, group programs and telehealth, seven days a week.

 

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, you'll deliver skilled clinical interventions and play a key role in helping consumers through some of their most challenging moments. You'll work across two shifts, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values innovation and making a real difference in people's lives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers in their homes
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team which operates within a holistic recovery-based model
  • Clinical decision making around risk management strategies and prioritisation, with support and guidance from rostered RPN4s staff.

 

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking registered psychiatric nurses with:

  • Experience in the complexities of working in Acute Mental Health
  • A genuine interest in delivering recovery oriented, consumer centred delivery of care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team
