About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About Central Resource Unit (CRU)
CRU manages is the Casual Bank at Barwon Health that is resourced using Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives (+/- dual registration) and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses. CRU provides staffing resources twenty four hours a day, seven days a week across the clinical units of Barwon Health to cover planned and emergent shortfalls within the service.
About the role
Casual Bank staff members have the opportunity to work across a range of sites and a variety of speciality bed based services. Based on your prior experience you will be able to choose to work in one or more of the following areas. Casual Bank employees need to be available to work for at least 1 shift per fortnight over an average of 3 months.
- Emergency
- Intensive Care
- Cardiac Services
- Oncology
- Renal Services
- Speciality Medical Units
- Surgical Units
- Midwifery Services
- Paediatric and Special Care Nursery
- Sub-Acute

About you
As the successful applicant you will:
- Have minimum 12 months of clinical experience
- Have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and excellent clinical skills
- Provide evidence based, high quality care to patients
- Delivering consumer-centred care that meets best practice standards and in line with Barwon Health requirements
