About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Youang Surgery Centre (YSC) Scrub/Scout team.
As a Scrub/Scout Nurse, you will play an integral role in providing safe, effective and patient-focused care throughout the surgical journey. Working within a fast-paced day surgery environment, you will collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and support staff to support positive patient outcomes and deliver excellence in perioperative care.
This role will suit a Registered Nurse with scrub/scout experience who is committed to teamwork, quality improvement and providing exceptional standards of care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in the perioperative environment, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support effective surgical care delivery
- Undertake scrub/scout responsibilities while maintaining professional standards and adherence to infection prevention and safety requirements
- Contribute to a positive team culture, continuous improvement activities and the ongoing development of clinical practice
What we’re looking for
- Current Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated scrub/scout nursing experience within a clinical environment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering patient-centred care aligned with Barwon Health values
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining clinical competence

Youang Surgery Centre (YSC) is a modern, accredited day surgery committed to delivering outstanding patient care in a safe, supportive, and professional environment.
Operating Monday to Friday with morning and afternoon sessions, YSC features seven state-of-the-art operating theatres and provides a broad range of surgical services, including:

- Maxillofacial Surgery
- Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
- Gynaecology
- Plastic Surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Endoscopy
- Paediatric Surgery
