About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

Barwon Health’s Medical Imaging Service (BMI) is an innovative team using state of the art equipment to provide comprehensive imaging and Interventional Radiology services in our specialised Angiography and Hybrid suites to the Barwon South West Region.

                                                                                                                                                                                    

Our Medical Imaging Nurses provide clinical support at University Hospital Geelong (including our busy Angiography Suite and Hybrid lab), and other sites located at Youang Building, McKellar Centre, Barwon Health North Geelong and Colac.  Working collaboratively with on-site Radiologists, Radiographers and Administrative teams we pride ourselves on providing high quality consumer focused care.

 

About the role

As a Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging, you will enjoy diversity, supporting the Medical Imaging Team by providing consumer centred care to patients from the Emergency Department (ED), Barwon Health Wards and outpatients attending the imaging department who require nursing support. A large component of the Medical Imaging Nurse is assisting in procedural work. With flexibility to work in an after-hours setting, once trained there are opportunities to participate in an on-call roster supporting emergency after hour’s specialised Angiography team.
