About the facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.  

 

About Cardiac Services

Bellarine Centre 5 (BC5) is a 34-bed combined Cardiac service that consists of critical care, cardiothoracic and cardiology beds. 

Barwon Health’s Cardiac Services covers the complete range of diagnostic and interventional Cardiology, including a 24-hour emergency STEMI Service. The Cardiothoracic Unit performs a wide range of bypass graft, valve repair/replacement and Bental’s, complex thoracic surgery including pneumonectomies, lobectomies and wedge resections. 

 

About the Role

We are actively seeking skilled and experienced Registered Nurses with a background in critical care and/or cardiothoracic nursing to take on new challenges within our dynamic healthcare environment. 

As part of our dedicated team, you will utilise your demonstrated clinical expertise to deliver exceptional patient-centered care across our comprehensive range of cardiac services. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care for our community, and we welcome individuals who share our passion for excellence. 

To excel in this role, you will possess: 

  • Proven experience in critical care or cardiothoracic nursing within an acute/critical care setting 
  • A postgraduate certificate in critical care or cardiac nursing 
  • Flexibility to adapt to rotating rosters to meet unit demands 
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept time management, and a commitment to evidence-based holistic patient care tailored to cardiac specialty services
