About the role 

As a Registered Nurse, your practice will lead to excellence in patient care. You understand the importance of establishing a therapeutic relationship between yourself and the patient to enable best possible outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the patient, consumers and other health care professionals, working to establish and evaluate plans of care.   Birdsey Wing 7, a 16 bed Gastroenterology & General Medicine unit is seeking a qualified Grade 2 Registered Nurse to be part of their highly skilled, professional and friendly team. In this role you will be responsible for the provision of high quality patient care through a multidisciplinary approach.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver evidence-based, consumer-centred nursing care in accordance with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council competency standards and organisational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with National Safety and Quality Standards, participate in audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain professional competence, including adherence to scope of practice frameworks, delegation guidelines, mandatory training, and registration/CPD requirements set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Accurately manage patient documentation and information systems in line with legal, regulatory, and information security requirements.
  • Uphold Occupational Health & Safety policies, proactively report hazards/incidents, and contribute to a safe and positive team culture.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Bachelor-level qualification in Nursing from a recognised institution.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Ability to practise independently in a clinical environment with strong assessment, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • High level of motivation, willingness to learn, alignment with organisational values, and sound computer literacy
