About the role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and motivated Cancer Nurse to join our dedicated oncology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-focused environment delivering high-quality systemic anti-cancer therapy and holistic care to patients undergoing treatment.

You will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies and supportive treatments in a day unit setting, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care.

You will work collaboratively with the patient, consumers and other health care professionals, working to establish and evaluate plans of care. 

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care
  • Monitor patients for treatment side effects and manage complications appropriately
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical governance standards
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

 

We are looking for a nurse who is:

  • Currently Registered as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrated recent experience working in cancer nursing, understanding of cancer types, treatment modalities and their side effects.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused
  • Organised with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to continuous professional development

The Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) is a comprehensive cancer centre that has provided expert care to those affected by cancer in Geelong and southwest Victoria in a supportive and caring environment since 1992. 

Our service gives adults living in the Barwon South West region access to world class cancer treatment.  Based in Geelong, we have state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and highly skilled health professionals who provide personalised treatment and care.
