About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
The Nursing and Midwifery Recruitment Team facilitates the recruitment of Grade 2 Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses, RUSON / RUSOMs and Health Care Workers to ensure service provision across the organisation.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Nursing & Midwifery Recruiter to join our dynamic team.
As a key member of our People & Culture team, you will play a vital role in coordinating the end-to-end recruitment process for Nurses and Midwives across our organisation. This is a rewarding opportunity to support our clinical teams by ensuring we attract and select talented, values-aligned professionals who deliver exceptional care to our community.
Key responsibilities of the role encompass, but are not confined to:
- Managing centralised recruitment campaigns for nursing and midwifery roles across multiple units and services.
- Building strong relationships with Nurse Unit Managers, Midwifery Unit Managers, and Facility Managers to understand workforce needs and future staffing demands.
- Ensuring a high-quality candidate pipeline by engaging, assessing, and supporting applicants throughout the recruitment journey.
- Streamlining recruitment processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and assessment quality.
- Championing an exceptional candidate experience, providing timely communication and professional support at every stage.
- Implementing transparent and systematic processes that underscore a 'best person for the role' approach, fostering a fair and unbiased selection methodology.
