About the role

To provide an effective and efficient reception/administrative service across Barwon Health sites and contribute to the overall performance of Barwon Health to ensure high quality customer service. A focus of this role is ensuring that the administration functions support the patient journey core principles of access and patient centred care with a high standard of quality

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Greet and assist clients, relatives, visitors, and the general public, providing accurate information and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
  • Answer calls courteously, direct enquiries to the appropriate personnel, and ensure timely, clear, and accurate responses.
  • Process, maintain, and update patient records, correspondence, and transactions in IPMS and other systems, including accurate cash handling and banking.
  • Contribute to staff and patient rounding, AIDET practices, and participate in programs such as the Needle and Syringe Exchange, fostering a customer-focused team environment.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and reliable transport (to be presented for verification)
  • Demonstrated experience in a busy reception, providing clerical and administrative duties in a confidential environment
  • Excellent keyboard and computer literacy and skills including the proficient use of the Internet, Word, Excel, Outlook and information electronic information systems and databases
  • Courteous and respectful behaviour in all interpersonal interaction and consistent application of principles of confidentiality and patient privacy 
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
