About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About the role
- We are seeking current 4th year graduate Medical Imaging Diagnostic Radiography University students who complete their degree this year, and are eligible for employment in 2026!
- Opportunity to work with a highly skilled team, and undertake future training on the latest imaging technology! Including DR X-ray, mobiles and theatre image intensifiers, Dual Energy and Spectral CT, Hybrid Angio/CT interventional lab, high end mammography machine, high end 1.5T and 3.0T MRI scanners.
- Supportive team environment with a varying patient presentation and workload. This includes both adult and paediatric emergency, trauma, outpatient and inpatient imaging.

The Grade 1 Radiographer/MIT will provide support to the Grade 2 Radiographer / MIT and their colleagues in the provision of the medical imaging service.
Duties of the Radiographer include but are not limited to:
- Independently operate all diagnostic imaging equipment including information systems (RIS/PACS/Firstnet,BOSS)
- Participate in the ‘ABC roster’ which includes being available for reasonable overtime and shift duty that does not attract an on-call or night shift allowance
- Operate all X-ray systems across Barwon Health including logging of equipment faults with imaging supervisors
- Perform routine medical imaging examinations including emergency, paediatric, inpatient and outpatient examinations
- Display leadership by example especially when working with students, and other Grade 1 Radiographers
