About the role 

The Grade 2 Radiographer/MIT plays a key role in supporting the delivery of a 24/7 Interventional Cardiology service at Barwon Health. Working closely with Grade 3 and Grade 4 Radiographers and the Nurse Unit Manager, this role is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of specialised cardiac Cath Lab imaging, supporting a broad range of coronary, electrophysiology (EPS), pacing, and structural heart procedures. As part of the on‑call service, you will contribute to the provision of high‑quality patient care while supporting the broader Cath Lab team in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Deliver high‑quality cardiac imaging services, independently operating Cath Lab Fluoroscopy equipment in support of a 24/7 STEMI and interventional cardiology service, including coronary, electrophysiology (EPS), pacing, and structural heart procedures.
  • Ensure safe, accurate, and patient‑centred care, including correct patient identification, optimal image acquisition, comprehensive documentation, and strict adherence to clinical standards and radiation safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, nursing staff, and other clinical departments, to support efficient patient flow, procedural support, and service delivery.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and professional practice through participation in audits, education and training activities, policy compliance, and continuous professional development.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • As required under Radiation Act 2005 the Radiographer / MIT must hold current registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of Australia (MRTBA) under the auspices of AHPRA
  • Victoria Government Department of Health ,Radiation ‘Use Licence’ Tertiary qualification recognised by the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR) 
  • Relevant knowledge ,experience and competence relating to the Cardiac Cath Lab
