About the role 

The Grade 2 Radiographer/MIT supports the Grade 3 and Grade 4 Radiographer/MIT in the management of the 24/7 Interventional and Hybrid Angiography-CT service.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Independently perform high-quality diagnostic imaging across modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, DSA, Fluoroscopy) in accordance with ALARA principles and validated requests.
  • Ensure correct patient identification using the 4-step verification model and confirm accurate positioning, presentation, and image quality prior to completion.
  • Utilise specialist knowledge in designated modalities and escalate equipment faults appropriately to senior staff and vendors.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Grade 1 Radiographers/MITs and students, contribute to training, and participate in the 24/7 ABC roster including overtime, night shift and on-call duties.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Medical Radiation Practitioner and a valid Victorian Department of Health Radiation Use Licence.
  • Tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging recognised by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).
  • Demonstrated expertise in DSA, Hybrid Angio-CT, Fluoroscopy and CT, including complex interventional and CT-guided procedures (e.g., thrombolysis, embolisation, clot retrieval, ablation, biopsy, drainage).
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in on-call settings, delivering high-quality imaging across routine, trauma and paediatric examinations while adhering to ALARA principles.
