    • Join Barwon Health, a leading regional health service
    • Be part of the GGQ Local, a consortium supporting community mental health and wellbeing
    • Lead quality, safety and evaluation to drive continuous improvement across the service

    About the role

The GGQ Mental Health and Wellbeing Local supports adults and older adults in Greater Geelong and the Borough of Queenscliffe. It is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative, Wellways Australia and ermha365. The service is built on positivity, hope and inclusion. Whether people reach out online, through the contact centre or in person, every first conversation begins with the same question: "Welcome, how can we help?" The Local responds early to emerging mental health challenges. Its team is made up mainly of mental health support workers and peer support workers who provide individual and group support and social prescribing, linking people with community services that reduce isolation and loneliness.

As Quality, Safety & Evaluation Lead, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership in quality, safety, risk management, service evaluation and continuous improvement across the GGQ Local. You'll oversee the quality and safety framework, covering incident management, risk, complaints and feedback, audits and compliance. You'll also make sure that what we learn from incidents, data, feedback and evaluation turns into meaningful changes in practice. Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, staff, consumers, carers and consortium partners, you'll help build a safe, high-quality, evidence-informed and consumer-centred service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and monitor quality, safety, risk and continuous improvement activities, including oversight of incidents, complaints and feedback, and ensure appropriate follow-up and learning.
    • Coordinate service evaluation and reporting, analysing performance and outcome data and preparing reports for operational and governance committees.
    • Support compliance with legislation, standards and Department of Health requirements, and provide advice and education to staff on quality, safety and risk management.

    What We Are Looking For

You're a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of the mental health landscape and a passion for using data, feedback and evaluation to improve outcomes for people and communities. You build strong partnerships, communicate with clarity and value the voices of consumers and carers in service design and improvement.

    • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent industry experience) and at least three years' experience in the mental health sector across public, private, NGO and primary care settings
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience building empowering partnerships with communities and a broad range of services
