About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About the role
As part of Public Health and Primary Care Unit, deliver services to the multi-disciplinary Primary Care Program. The position is responsible for the continuous improvement and delivery of high quality, cost effective physiotherapy services.
The role of the position is to:
- Provide a comprehensive, integrated and high quality physiotherapy service, applying evidence based, informed, client centred care within a multi-disciplinary community setting.
- Provide teaching, supervision, support and development of less experienced staff and undergraduate students.
- Manage designated portfolios and quality improvement projects within the expectations of the Barwon Health Strategic, Primary Care and the Physiotherapy Business Plan
The position is currently based within community health, but may convert to a rotational role across acutem, sub-acute and community at a later date.
All activities of the position will reflect current best practice standards for Physiotherapy.
The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, and program and department guidelines.

It will be located at a primary location but may be moved to other Barwon Health locations depending on service delivery needs. Future opportunities to participate in Grade 2 rotation programs across the organisation may arise.
