About the role 

  1. To provide and develop flexible and responsive physiotherapy services in the designated clinical area, applying evidence based, informed, patient centred care within a multi-disciplinary setting.
  2. To work effectively as a member of the highly performing inter-professional teams providing patient care in the designated clinical area.
  3. To provide clinical leadership, education and expert consultancy to the multi-disciplinary team.
  4. To provide physiotherapy and inter-professional teaching, supervision, support and development of students.

To continuously monitor, analyse and develop services in the designated clinical area within the expectations of the Barwon Health Strategic Plan and the relevant Service Plan(s)

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Provide clinical leadership in physiotherapy services by leading evidence-based, multidisciplinary assessment, treatment, and care planning, while ensuring high-quality, timely, and policy-compliant care delivery.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement through policy development, evaluation of outcomes, data-driven reporting, and implementation of innovative models of care to enhance service effectiveness.
  • Lead and support collaborative practice by delegating responsibilities, supervising staff, fostering reflective practice, and building strong partnerships across internal teams, external stakeholders, and professional networks.
  • Maintain professional excellence and compliance by meeting AHPRA registration and CPD requirements, promoting culturally safe and ethical practice, and actively engaging in lifelong learning, supervision, and risk management.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • AHPRA-registered Physiotherapist with relevant accredited qualification and strong clinical expertise in the designated area, demonstrating extensive experience and independent practice capability.
  • Proven ability to lead and support others, including supervising junior staff, contributing to undergraduate clinical education, and fostering professional development within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, manage conflict, influence stakeholders, and deliver culturally safe, patient-centred care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice, including experience in service development, research, reflective practice, and applying initiative to problem-solving and service enhancement.
