About the role
Barwon Health’s Physiotherapy Department is seeking an organised, dynamic and flexible Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join our Intensive Care Unit Casual Pool at University Hospital Geelong.
You will provide evidence-based, patient-centred Physiotherapy within a busy multidisciplinary ICU environment, supported by our experienced Senior Physiotherapy team. Orientation can include a number of mid-week shifts to help you become familiar with our 24-bed ICU, with ongoing opportunities for mentoring, clinical support and skills development.
The role includes the opportunity to work one weekend day shift approximately every 4–6 weeks, with flexibility to pick up additional weekend shifts. There is also the opportunity to work additional shifts across General Surgical and Cardiothoracic clinical areas.
As a Grade 2 Physiotherapist, you will also contribute to the development of junior staff and students through clinical leadership, teaching and supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based Physiotherapy assessment and intervention within the ICU.
- Independently manage your clinical caseload while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to Grade 1 Physiotherapists and students.
- Contribute to service improvement, professional development and quality improvement activities.
What we’re looking for
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist.
- Demonstrated clinical experience and ability to work independently within your scope of practice.
- Clinical knowledge, skills and experience relevant to an acute hospital setting, with ICU experience highly regarded.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development and reflective practice.
