About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

The Acute Physiotherapy Department provides services to a wide range of clinical areas. Physiotherapy is predominantly inpatient focused with some outpatient services provided in orthopaedics, paediatrics and women's health. Our dynamic team provides inpatient physiotherapy to all wards of University Hospital Geelong. Specialties include surgical, medical, orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics, Rapid Assessment and Planning Unit, Oncology and the Emergency Department.

About the role 

Barwon Health’s Physiotherapy team are looking for organised, dynamic and flexible team player with clinical knowledge, skills and experience across the spectrum of patients presenting to the Acute Orthopaedic Services including preop clinic, Day Surgery and Acute Orthopaedic wards. You will provide evidence-based, informed, patient-centred physiotherapy care within a multi-disciplinary setting. Rotational Grade 1 Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants and Undergraduate Students will require your leadership, teaching and supervisory expertise when they work in your area. Your own professional supervision and development will be valued and you will be supported to achieve your goals.  Weekend work (as part of a team roster) will form part of this role.
