About the role
Join Barwon Health's Pharmacy Department as a Pharmacy Technician and play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient supply of medications to patients. Based at University Hospital Geelong, this position may also require you to work across Barwon Health's three campuses.
Working closely with dispensary and ward pharmacists, you'll support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to both inpatients and outpatients. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills within a collaborative team while contributing to exceptional patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Process and prepare prescriptions accurately to support the safe supply of medications.
- Assist with dispensary operations, medication stock management and imprest supply.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality pharmacy services.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement and safe medication practices.
What we're looking for
- Completion of certificate III in Hospital-Health Services Pharmacy Support, or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and previous hospital or community pharmacy experience are desirable.
