About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

About the role

As a Patient Services Assistant (PSA), your role is to work across all acute wards ensuring the effective provision of patient care in the assistance of nursing staff in the areas of patient welfare, comfort, hygiene and transport in order to achieve and maintain quality patient outcomes.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Provision of transport and couriering services of patients, wards and departments in line with relevant EBA and Barwon Health policy and procedures to ensure patient centred care is delivered and maintained
  • Providing assistance under direction, once trained to a competent level, with patient restraint
  • Provision and monitoring of quality meal services to ensure correct meal supplements are provided
