About the role
The primary role is to undertake a combination of cleaning, food & beverage delivery, patient and non-patient related transportation and support across the facility; in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. The effective and efficient cleaning of the facility; including public, staff, inpatient and clinical areas; together with the operation of waste disposal and recycling systems; ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff in accordance with the Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning across clinical and non-clinical areas, including patient rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces
- Maintain floors and furnishings through mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and periodic deep cleaning
- Manage waste disposal, including collection, removal, and handling of various waste streams
- Replenish consumables and ensure all areas are well-stocked, hygienic, and presentable
- Support patient room turnover, including bed making, surface cleaning, and preparation for new admissions
What we are looking for
- Basic verbal and written English communication skills
- Physical fitness to safely perform cleaning and manual handling duties
- Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under routine supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate respectfully with diverse individuals, including older persons
