About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake a combination of cleaning, food & beverage delivery, patient and non-patient related transportation and support across the facility; in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. The effective and efficient cleaning of the facility; including public, staff, inpatient and clinical areas; together with the operation of waste disposal and recycling systems; ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff in accordance with the Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver high standards of cleaning and infection control across clinical and non-clinical areas, including patient rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces
  • Maintain floors, furnishings, and equipment through routine and deep cleaning, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
  • Manage waste, linen, and consumables, including patient laundry handling and restocking essential supplies
  • Prepare and reset patient rooms, including bed making, discharge/terminal and isolation cleans, and equipment turnaround
  • Support ward operations with meal service, basic food handling, room setup, and maintaining tidy, presentable facilities

 

What we’re looking for 

  •  Demonstrated experience in general cleaning, including use of commercial equipment and adherence to infection control and safety standards
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, following established procedures with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills (fluent English) with a commitment to confidentiality, quality care, and organisational values
